ok so here are some photos from the drive from baltimore to dingle

dingle recap! (written a couple days ago. lol this blog is getting confusing)

Well our first b&b (we stayed in 2 different ones in dingle) was actually a little bit outside of the town. Right below Brandon's Mountain. A mountain. It was kind of in the middle of nowhere but very very nice. Our hosts were awesome, too. We got an amazing breakfast. It was probably the nicest place so far. That first night we didn't really do anything cause we were tired from the drive. BUT THE NEXT DAY, it was all sunny and stuff, so we got up and drove around Dingle. Dingle is a peninsula, btw. It sticks out into the atlantic. We went to this cove with cliffs and ocean and stuff, it was really pretty, and we saw this guy on the cliffs in the distance collecting stuff. Turns out he was gathering "irish diamonds". They are not really diamonds but they are really beautiful crystals that are found in cliffs. He was this really sweet german guy and he gave us a few of the crystals!!! Sooooooooo neat what a cool thing to have. We drove around more and saw more beautiful sights blahblahblah why does everything have to be so beautiful in Ireland????
So then we checked into our next b&b which was right in town. Very nice as well. We went and got some food at around 4 at the Marina Inn. Good food. Live music began there at 5:30. So we stuck around for that, AND HERE'S WHERE THE FUN BEGAN! Cool people started to trickle in. It was so refreshing cause it's really just been me and my mom so far. First we met people from Philadelphia at the bar. Cool!!! They were great. Then we met a lot of other people. I can't even keep track. I was drinking Bulmers, which is a delicious cider from Ireland that is usually on tap at all the pubs. All the cool people drink it. The music was fantastic. It was great to be around people. Love my mom but it was just awesome to talk to other humans. YOUNG PEOPLE! I finally was around young people. We met some cool guys from San Fransisco who are actually staying in the same town we are again tonight. SOOOOO, the music at this pub ended around 9:30, then music at this other pub had just begun at 9:30!! So everyone headed there. So many people. Sunday nights are apparently THE NIGHT in Ireland. That's what it seems like. The music here was great as well and we met this WONDERFUL couple, Ian and Erica, that we chatted with the rest of the night. Ian is from Dublin and Erica is from California and they met in Colorado and feel in love and they are the best. They were so great. Then all the sudden it was 2AM and the pub started closing up. Oh jeeze. This night was the best. Dingle forever. I can't wait to go back.
Felt absolutely horrible this morning. Breakfast is always served no later then 9am at these places. Kind of stinks when you just wanna sleep in. We left Dingle :( and headed to our next destination, Doolin. About an hour south of Galway. Also on the water. It's right by the Cliffs of Mohr. Very neat place. Lots of international tourists. More then I have seen in any town so far. It's the smallest town so far, too. Weird!! We are here for 2 nights. We got dinner and hung out at this pub for a little but we soo tired so we went home. I'm kind of scared the rest of our stays wont be as fun as Dingle was. But hopefully tomorrow will defy expectations!

dingle photos (click to make em bigger cause these next ones are REALLY tiny)

some of the bathrooms here have TP like this, where you pull it out and it's just like little tissues. really annoying

this was the guy who gave us the crystals!

ok and here are some photos from doolin

turns out our second day and night in Doolin was loads of fun. We went to the Cliffs of Moher- so incredible!!!! We did some other exploring as well. Ate a good dinner, ran into the californians we met in Dingle, had fun, stayed up late, etc. Doolin is such an awesome little town! Equally as awesome as Dingle.
We left this morning to go to Galway. Galway is known to be way cooler then Dublin, apparently. It does seem really cool. It's St. Patricks day eve, which is just as big as St. Patricks day (which is just as big of a deal if not a bigger deal here then it is in the states, to my surprise) so there were tons of people out and lots of stuff going on. We walked around and it was great but I think I would enjoy it more if it weren't for this holiday. I would also like more time to see more of the city cause I hear such good things about it. Tomorrow we're going to Roscommon, which is sort of in between Galway in Dublin and a little north. I don't know much about it, but we have friends there that we are visiting for a couple nights! Very excited to see them. It will be fun to spend St. Patricks with some locals. Then on Saturday we drive back to Dublin, drop the car off at the airport, then meet up with Kelly G who is coming from Barcelona!! Can't wait to see her. Not sure yet where were gonna go from there. But it's so great how small Ireland is, cause you can pretty much get anywhere in half of a day. So I think we might go back to the west coast for a few days. THEN TO BARCELONA!!!!!!!!!
