bye ireland :(

So I left Ireland yesterday for Barcelona. It's been an amazing last few days though!
St. Patricks day we stayed in Roscommon at the Hussey's, who are the nicest people and the greatest hosts ever. We ate a delicious Irish dinner and then went out to this bar/club...i think called Valentines? We danced a lot, did jagger bombs, and topped off the night with chips and curry sauce...YUMMMMM. It was such a great night. Irish people are just as crazy as Americans when it comes to St Paricks, except its way more acceptable because they are actually Irish. We ate another delicious meal the next morning to soak up all the toxins from the night before. Did a little shopping, watched a movie, went to bed. The Husseys were SO good to us and i will miss them :( Saturday morning we drove back to Dublin to drop off our rental car and meet up with Kelly! So great to see her. We hopped on a bus back across the country to Galway, which is only 3 hours from Dublin. We decided to stay there for the next few days cause it's a really cool town with lots to do. My mother left for home on Monday (miss you mom) so that left Kelly and I with one more day and night in Galway. We walked around a bunch and found this amazing record/book/comic shop. Got a ton of records that I can't wait to listen to. We stayed at a hostel and heard the sounds of love making next door to us...pretty uncomfortable pretty funny but I guess that's the price you pay for staying in a hostel. We had a very eventful night. A great last night in Galway. The next morning we got one last bowl of porridge at our breakfast spot and then got on a bus back to Dublin. We got a recommendation from one of the girls we were staying with to go to this vegetarian restaurant called Cornucopia. IT WAS THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN. We ate dinner there, walked around, then came back for dessert. It was really good. Then we went to bed then we got up and went to the airport and left Ireland for good :( :( :(
IN CONCLUSION: Ireland is an AMAZING place, the people are great, i'm so happy I got to see so much of it and meet so many people, and I can't wait to go back.
But now I'm in Barcelona with Kelly! Wowowowowowowowowow. It's sunny and warm. I walked around quite a bit today while Kelly was at school. Now i'm about to take a siesta cause that's what they do in Barcelona. There is so much to see and do here. We have a lot of cool things planned for this weekend. Like wine and cheese on the beach and secret mountain spots with views of the city and lots of other stuff. Can't wait!!

ok so here are some photos from the drive from baltimore to dingle

dingle recap! (written a couple days ago. lol this blog is getting confusing)

Well our first b&b (we stayed in 2 different ones in dingle) was actually a little bit outside of the town. Right below Brandon's Mountain. A mountain. It was kind of in the middle of nowhere but very very nice. Our hosts were awesome, too. We got an amazing breakfast. It was probably the nicest place so far. That first night we didn't really do anything cause we were tired from the drive. BUT THE NEXT DAY, it was all sunny and stuff, so we got up and drove around Dingle. Dingle is a peninsula, btw. It sticks out into the atlantic. We went to this cove with cliffs and ocean and stuff, it was really pretty, and we saw this guy on the cliffs in the distance collecting stuff. Turns out he was gathering "irish diamonds". They are not really diamonds but they are really beautiful crystals that are found in cliffs. He was this really sweet german guy and he gave us a few of the crystals!!! Sooooooooo neat what a cool thing to have. We drove around more and saw more beautiful sights blahblahblah why does everything have to be so beautiful in Ireland????
So then we checked into our next b&b which was right in town. Very nice as well. We went and got some food at around 4 at the Marina Inn. Good food. Live music began there at 5:30. So we stuck around for that, AND HERE'S WHERE THE FUN BEGAN! Cool people started to trickle in. It was so refreshing cause it's really just been me and my mom so far. First we met people from Philadelphia at the bar. Cool!!! They were great. Then we met a lot of other people. I can't even keep track. I was drinking Bulmers, which is a delicious cider from Ireland that is usually on tap at all the pubs. All the cool people drink it. The music was fantastic. It was great to be around people. Love my mom but it was just awesome to talk to other humans. YOUNG PEOPLE! I finally was around young people. We met some cool guys from San Fransisco who are actually staying in the same town we are again tonight. SOOOOO, the music at this pub ended around 9:30, then music at this other pub had just begun at 9:30!! So everyone headed there. So many people. Sunday nights are apparently THE NIGHT in Ireland. That's what it seems like. The music here was great as well and we met this WONDERFUL couple, Ian and Erica, that we chatted with the rest of the night. Ian is from Dublin and Erica is from California and they met in Colorado and feel in love and they are the best. They were so great. Then all the sudden it was 2AM and the pub started closing up. Oh jeeze. This night was the best. Dingle forever. I can't wait to go back.
Felt absolutely horrible this morning. Breakfast is always served no later then 9am at these places. Kind of stinks when you just wanna sleep in. We left Dingle :( and headed to our next destination, Doolin. About an hour south of Galway. Also on the water. It's right by the Cliffs of Mohr. Very neat place. Lots of international tourists. More then I have seen in any town so far. It's the smallest town so far, too. Weird!! We are here for 2 nights. We got dinner and hung out at this pub for a little but we soo tired so we went home. I'm kind of scared the rest of our stays wont be as fun as Dingle was. But hopefully tomorrow will defy expectations!

dingle photos (click to make em bigger cause these next ones are REALLY tiny)

some of the bathrooms here have TP like this, where you pull it out and it's just like little tissues. really annoying

this was the guy who gave us the crystals!

ok and here are some photos from doolin

turns out our second day and night in Doolin was loads of fun. We went to the Cliffs of Moher- so incredible!!!! We did some other exploring as well. Ate a good dinner, ran into the californians we met in Dingle, had fun, stayed up late, etc. Doolin is such an awesome little town! Equally as awesome as Dingle.
We left this morning to go to Galway. Galway is known to be way cooler then Dublin, apparently. It does seem really cool. It's St. Patricks day eve, which is just as big as St. Patricks day (which is just as big of a deal if not a bigger deal here then it is in the states, to my surprise) so there were tons of people out and lots of stuff going on. We walked around and it was great but I think I would enjoy it more if it weren't for this holiday. I would also like more time to see more of the city cause I hear such good things about it. Tomorrow we're going to Roscommon, which is sort of in between Galway in Dublin and a little north. I don't know much about it, but we have friends there that we are visiting for a couple nights! Very excited to see them. It will be fun to spend St. Patricks with some locals. Then on Saturday we drive back to Dublin, drop the car off at the airport, then meet up with Kelly G who is coming from Barcelona!! Can't wait to see her. Not sure yet where were gonna go from there. But it's so great how small Ireland is, cause you can pretty much get anywhere in half of a day. So I think we might go back to the west coast for a few days. THEN TO BARCELONA!!!!!!!!!

Baltimore and beyond

Nooooooooooo not Baltimore MD silly!!!!!!!!!! Baltimore in County Cork in Ireland in World!!!
We drove to Baltimore from Kilkenny yesterday morning. Took about 4 hrs. Nice drive.
Baltimore is at the southern tip of Ireland. Its a little fishing town. Its really cool! But very quiet this time of year (as most of Ireland seems to be).
When we arrived we went to this AWESOMe lake called Lough Hyne. It was big and had a really nice walking path around it. And then this morning we went to THE BEACON. It was AMAZING. C below for pics Baltimore was great and much more enjoyable then Kilkenny was.

Here are some picures (PS IT TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD PICS ON THIS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA ON HOW TO SPEED UP THIS PROCESS? please do not suggest making a tumblr i am never leaving blogger)

lobster alert lobster alert!!!

cows! u know it

Natalie Portman is disguise as an actual black swan in disguise as a white swan. Yes it's really Natalie!!!

And here's some from the Beacon

The water was soooo blue!! And the cliffs were so high! The photos don't really do it justice.
So after the whole photo shoot at the beacon thing we drove to Dingle. It was supposed to take 3.5 hours to get here but it ended up taking us around 5 or 6. We had to go up and down and around all sorts of mountains. Killer drive. But really really neat! Lots of interesting and different scenery. Photos of the drive and more on Dingle berries tomorrow. We're here for 2 nights so there's plenty of time. Whoops I mean more on Dingle the town not dingle berries sorry different things i know nothing about the latter i swear seeya

oh my god they "kilkenny"

lol! We are in a town called Kilkenny now. We drove here from Dublin this morning. My mother's driving went WAY better then expected. She got used to it pretty quickly. And it was mainly highway between Dublin and here so it was pretty simple. Kilkenny is described as a "medieval" town. But it doesn't look THAT medieval aside from this big awesome castle!!

It's really beautiful. Our first look at an Irish castle. Hopefully the first of many! We are staying at a B&B. I forgot to take a phot of it but it's nice. We are staying at B&B's for the rest of our trip. Tomorrow we go to Baltimore which is like 3-4 hrs southwest of where we are now. And it's on THE BEACH!!!!!!!!! I can't wait! It looks awesome. Cliffs and stuff. My mom is mad at me cause she wanted to stay out and party tonight but I dragged us back home cause i'm so tired. But it seems like things really don't pick up at the pubs until later, like 9 or 10pm. I still have not fully recovered from my jet lag so I'm not prepared to stay out that late yet. I feel like such a loser. If it weren't for the time difference I would be raging until dawn. Hopefully tomorrow i'll be able to.
Here some more pics from the day.
